Description  FAEBI®-HD – rubber air spring isolator with adjustable damping 
  • The combined rubber-air spring isolator FAEBI®-HD with adjustable damping comprises of an elastomer metal bonding with reinforced side wall and a two-chamber system. To achieve the greatest possible damping effect the interior of the air spring is divided into two air chambers connected by an air hose (load and damping volume). An adjustable throttle valve is used to set the flow cross section to the desired damping effect from the outside. The significantly higher damping effect compared to a single chamber system (FAEBI®) reduces the resonance amplification substantially and the machine movements fade noticeably faster. The increased energy absorption also has a positive effect on the manufactured goods and on machine and tool wear. Please contact us, we would be happy to advise you.
Variant selection
  • Please select a suitable rubber air spring so that the maximum load (sum of static and dynamic load) is not exceeded. Hard FAEBI® variants reduce the deflection of the isolators in applications with high dynamics. Please get in touch, we would be happy to assist you in selecting the most suitable elements.

Fixing bolts
  • The FAEBI® rubber air springs are attached to the existing holes in the machine using the bolts included in the scope of delivery (incl. one nut and one washer each). Anchoring to the floor is not usually necessary

Pressure control

The Bilz pressure control is the ideal addition to applications that do not need automatic level control. Instead of filling the air springs manually, they are connected to a constant compressed air supply. The working height of the individual insulators can each be individually set with one pressure regulator.

    Background

    Nidec SYS GmbH, based in Grafenau, is a leading player in the market for high‑speed stamping and forming technology. As part of the international Nidec Corporation, the company has been developing and manufacturing solutions for metal forming for more than 30 years. Nidec SYS offers a comprehensive portfolio – from high‑speed stamping presses and servo spindle presses to automation solutions and control systems. The products enable precise machining in the micrometer range, high press forces of up to 200 tons, and flexible adaptation to different manufacturing processes.

    Task

    For deep‑drawing processes and applications in which material feeding or removal is carried out using automation systems such as robots, presses are required that can deliver high forces with precision and flexibility. At the same time, different stroke motions and complex motion profiles must be achieved. This generates vibrations that are transmitted to the surroundings, affecting buildings, other machines, and people.

    Solution

    Our Bilz FAEBI® rubber air springs reduce the vibrations generated by the high press forces of the servo spindle press and prevent their transmission to the surrounding environment. In addition, sensitive components such as control and measurement systems are protected, significantly extending the service life of the equipment.

    Thanks to their highly effective vibration isolation, FAEBI® rubber air springs ensure smooth operating conditions and consistently high production quality.

    In combination with our mechanical level control system, the servo spindle press maintains its precise level at all times. When the load changes, the air pressure in the air springs is adjusted accordingly, meaning the air spring is inflated or deflated depending on the load.

    The solution is easy to install, requires minimal maintenance, and makes a significant contribution to increasing the productivity and reliability of the entire production line.

    Background

    Boschert GmbH + Co KG in Lörrach is one of the leading manufacturers of sheet metal machines. The medium-sized company was founded in 1948 already and has established itself firmly as supplier in the sheet metal industry. Boschert is one of the few firms that still manufactures almost 100 percent of its products in-house. One thing is clear: Wherever high-performance machines punch, nibble or bend, vibrations occur. To reduce these, Boschert has used our solutions successfully since 2008.

    Task

    Boschert’s Multipunch is a universal and flexible punching machine for various sheet metal processing tasks. Another punching machine, the CombiLaser with its advanced plasma cutting technology, cuts thin sheet metals to the highest quality. For both machines, vibrations must be reduced to the minimum as they influence the accuracy of the work machining and thereby directly affect the quality of the products.

    Solution

    FAEBI® rubber air springs from Bilz have been used for many years for successful shock and vibration suppression of machines, appliances and aggregates. The construction design enables highly effective shock and vibration insulation without the disadvantage of excessive horizontal deflection. A collapse of the element due to overload or sudden pressure drop is impossible. Due to anti-slip plates on the base plate of the spring elements, additional floor anchoring is usually not necessary.

    Rubber air springs from Bilz are excellently suited for:
